Egyptian Zamalek club announced on Thursday its official signing of Kenyan Baron Otieno for four seasons in a free transfer deal, after quick and decisive negotiations with the player.
Zamalek confirmed that the deal comes as part of the new management’s strategy to prepare a team capable of competing in all tournaments.
The session that brought together the Kenyan player with John Edward, the sports director of Zamalek, witnessed an agreement on all financial and technical details, before Otieno officially signed the contracts for joining the White team.
Zamalek aims from signing Otieno to strengthen the first team with distinguished elements that help it return to strong competition for local titles such as the league and Egypt Cup, in addition to continental championships, especially the African Champions League.
The announcement of the deal was widely welcomed by Zamalek fans on social media, as supporters considered signing Otieno an important step towards rebuilding a strong team worthy of the club’s history and returning it to the podiums.
